“Is It Summer?” Book + Bubble Art & Free Printable for Kids

Summer is here, and it’s full of the sweetest things — like strawberries, backyard bubbles, and evenings that sparkle with fireflies.

My book Is It Summer? celebrates all those magical moments in a simple, rhyming story your child will love. Today I’m sharing a fun bubble art activity plus a free printable to go along with the book!

About the Book

Is It Summer? is a gentle, playful picture book that helps young children notice the little signs that summer has arrived — from warm sunshine to simple everyday joys. Written with preschool-aged readers in mind, this book invites children to slow down, observe the world around them, and celebrate the season together.

At the back of the book, you’ll find special keepsake pages where parents can write down their child’s favorite summer memories, making this book a meaningful keepsake you’ll want to pull out year after year.

Here is a fun art activity that goes along with the book!

Bubble Art Painting

What you will need
  • A shallow dish or cup
  • Bubble solution (store-bought or homemade)
  • A few drops of food coloring
  • A straw or bubble wand
  • White paper
Instructions
  1. Mix a few drops of food coloring into the bubble solution, make as many colors as you want
  2. Use the straw or bubble wand to blow bubbles onto to paper
  3. When the bubbles pop they make fun patterns
  4. Let dry, hang up and admire

Optional twist: After the art dries, have your child draw over the bubbles with crayons or markers to turn them into animals, balloons, or anything they can imagine!
